Blog2025 ≫ Pondering a new bag

Getting ready for a little holiday. Ordered another of these Eastpak Tranverz wheely cases 1, I really like them. Can't remember why I originally bought it. Maybe for one of the boys going on a trip? Anyway I was so pleased with that I bought one for me, and now I've bought another two so we all have one each for holidays.

Now thinking of a Pacsafe® V anti-theft urban sling. They say

Hands down, the best sling pack ever. Packed with iconic Pacsafe anti-theft features such as a cut-resistant eXomesh lining, lockable zippers, an RFID-blocking pocket, and a cut-resistant shoulder strap, you know your bag, valuables, and identity are safe. The wide opening allows for easy organization of your gear, with compartments and pockets to accommodate all your necessities. The design offers the flexibility to carry the sling on your back, chest, or either shoulder because we understand the importance of versatility.

Only really considering it because Clare already bought one of these. Similar but twice the size. It looked good, and I'd considered it before as a commuting bag. I thought it would be too heavy, with all it's slash proof metal reinforcing, but it's not. However I think it is a bit bigger than Clare was expecting. So if I buy that smaller one maybe we'll end up swapping? I think I can find a use for it anyway. Even if that use is just my passport living in it "ready to go" even if it never leaves the house. The one Clare has bought does fit my work laptop, I tried it. But it might be just too small for regular commuting. Might not be! Still pondering on it.

We're not doing birthday presents this year we're doing Race Across The World in London instead. The bag will get it's first trial there, before a full use on some future holiday.
