I had a slightly extended school run this afternoon. T2 was on a school trip to the Science Museum in London. He went in on the bus as normal, but I had to pick him up at five. I had to wait at the school. And wait. He's not answering his phone, the battery was sure to die on a full day of unfettered access like this. I heard from another waiting parent there had been an accident on the motorway! The kids were all ok, they weren't involved in the accident, but they were involved in the queueing after. Someone estimated another hour before they'd be back, based on the last place their son's phone had been spotted.
I went to Morrisons for a bit of a browse, to see if I could check anything off my packing list. I bought toothpaste and packs of tissues, and some flushable wet wipes. I did look for red wine in a non-glass bottle, they had none. I'm sure I've seen it, I'm sure I've bought it recently.
The coach eventually turned up about seven, I'd been hanging out there for two hours. He was happy enough when he got off the bus, if a bit hot, maybe coming down with something. We eventually got home. Via one more supermarket, to Tesco to get the curry dish for my tea that I didn't know I needed when I went to the previous supermarket.
It was my packets of tissues Clare mocked. She says this is wrong, just take a toilet roll. She is wrong surely, I need individual packs of tissues that I can keep in different pockets so there are always some to hand.
Looks like I was already at Glastonbury this day in 1997. The really wet one. The weather was really nice today, and getting hotter tomorrow.
A clear sky and light winds, 12 - 23℃.
