Blog2025 ≫ Friends are mocking my Glastonbury packing list

They thought I was packing lighter than that original list, and they're right, I was. So I've moved some things down off the list. The waterproof bag is gone, unless the weather suddenly changes. Running gear, I'm not going to make it to Pilton Parkrun am I? Spare phone, I don't have a spare phone. The tifoon is possibly staying, I will be buying all my food and surely eating most of it with my hands. My big two pint insulated mug that I originally got for my birthday precisely for Glastonbury is probably also staying. Think I can buy a reusable pint mug when I get there. Pen torch is gone, as I lost it, and pocket knife now must stay behind. It would normally be obvious for a camping trip, but this falls between camping trip where I must have something like that and gig where I must not.

Most controversially of all getting demoted from the list is the solar charger. I'm still in two minds over this. For one thing taking it is like guaranteeing it won't be sunny, and then also taking three battery packs might be a better use of my load space. I will still have to limit the use of the phone.

Latest Glastonbury packing check-list version will always be here, but here is what I've got right now. Still three checkboxes now for bought / own, primed / charged / ready to use, and finally packed. Even though it doesn't style as well as it did before I put it in columns.

  1. For 2025 I have booked a return coach from Stratford.
  2. Yeah went without this one year... found in the loft, not unpacked and investigated yet... is it a bit old school? Do I need a tent peg hammer??
  3. Pleased with this, stop losing my stuff, but also find my way back to the tent! I have bought four more Chipolo tags, which can be tracked with Google Find My Device.
  4. Tote bag? Small backpack? Bum bag? To carry round the site in the day.
  5. For stuffing clothes in and using as a pillow.
  6. Not a lot of washing going on, but already this is not looking that minimal.
  7. Wet wipes possibly, very controversial.
  8. My favourite Patagonia travelling socks, assuming I'll be in them for the whole event! Other advice is "take more socks than you think" though.
  9. Don't want to take all my own food and drink with me, but just light stuff to see me through between burger vans.
  10. Only really in case the originals get wet.
  11. Got a new one with built in USBC lead now.
  12. Going to need to take two or more to be safe I think.
  13. No pen torch now, so maybe, head torch too?.
  14. Good for the long journey there.
