Hmm I suddenly rediscovered an old pension the other day, not terribly old, just from the job before this one. I just got an illustration for it by email and there's more in there than I thought! Still not enough to retire on any time soon, but it's all good when these numbers go up instead of down. My main one will still be the current pension. Even though I've only been paying in five years I'm paying in a lot more than I ever did previously. So even if it doesn't grow much through clever management it will keep growing while I keep paying in.
Took Clare to the station this morning, so I keep the car in case T1 has any bus problems getting to school for today's maths exam. Probably the last maths GCSE exam? Then I'll pick him up at lunchtime and hopefully he'll come home and study. Only two more left after this I think. T2 went off to school in a right moody because I made him too much breakfast and then took his books away from him so a) we could tidy up a bit before the cleaners get here and b) so he'd eat something instead of grazy old Minecraft books...
Bloke from Octopus Energy 1 is going to be talking at Glastonbury again. Last time he had Idris Elba on stage with him apparently. I said already I will go to more talks this year and fewer bands.
Should be a nice day, warm, though if it's like yesterday it will be warm enought but still a bit breezy and grey. Think they said on Radio 4 it will get up to thirty degrees by Friday and that could be too hot! Bring it on.
On the trains again, a friend is also commuting in today (I'm going on in tomorrow), they said they'd heard from the coffee man things are much quieter these days, fewer customers, less coffee sold. Speaking of which time for me to make one now. I actually look forward to the start of a new working day as it means it's time for more coffee from my coffee machine! And I think I have parcels arriving today, new sunglasses. Life is pretty good!
Sunny intervals and a moderate breeze, 12 - 20℃.
Guessing 2534 cups of coffee from my espresso machine 2 probably comes to £0.92 a cup (including 3+ years of coffee beans and now servicing 2 but not the 'leccy).
