Blog2025 ≫ You were probably wondering if my garden could get any scruffier...

Don't worry I've got that covered!

Tent set up in our front garden

This is the tent that's been in the loft forever. Thought I'd better get it out and set it up before Glastonbury just in case any bits were missing. Or if indeed it was not really a tent in that bag all along.

It went up fairly smoothly. The elastic in the poles is gone - they're in sections with a long bit of elastic to hold them together - but I cut and retied that and it'll do. And it seems to be a three man tent, though it would have been a bit cosy. I could do with one that is about half the size of this then as I'm travelling on my own, but it's not bad. I can lose a few bits of it, not take the groundsheet for the awning, and don't need to take all the spare tent pegs and repair kit.

It will be different of course trying to put it up if it's wet and / or windy but not a lot I can do about that, just hope for the best.

I'm leaving it up while I have lunch, hope it's not going to rain, then put it down again later. See if it all fits back in the bag. I have used it, as it is a bit dirty, so should all be OK.

Sunny intervals and a moderate breeze, 9 - 16℃.
