Blog2025 ≫ Massive Pixies day out part seven - The actual Pixies

Finally made it to the gig, by tube and a short walk. They made us walk right round the building for some reason, you never had to do that in the old days. But after a brief frisking, and an even briefer dismiss of the merch stand (no vinyl) we're in.

We kept drinking through the gig, wine at this stage, we did not need to be drinking any more. But somehow we survived it.

The gig itself was like a nice extra thing tacked onto our huge day. It wasn't feeling like the main event, more like a pudding that we mostly enjoyed. The band started a little slow I thought, new songs first, good old ones interspersed, but then picking up more in the second half. We enjoyed it and we sang along.

Setlist was:

I went to the bar again about half way through, and got a cocktail, a mojito on tap. Bar absolutely emptied when Debaser came on, but I stayed in place singing along to myself. Did not really plan to go down the front at this one.

We left at the end of Where Is My Mind as we knew the end was coming, needed to beat the rush for the tube to get back in time.

I can write more but T1 needs this laptop to do some exam revision 1.

  1. I could write more but will I write more..? Later if more comes to me. I'm updating the next day, fixing links.
