I was supposed to choose from the two remaining Mayfair pubs, but once we'd settled into our day Clare agreed we could go to both of them. So after The Punchbowl, next stop The Guinea. This one recommended the landlord of The Potting Shed, and it was good. More popular and busy than the last one. We stood outside having a half only. There was a top hatted doorman at this place who insisted we come in and see the meet. It's famed for it's steaks and chops and so on. They've had a lot of famous visitors to this place, they have pages from the visitors book up in the loo. I saw Dame Vera Lynn, Gene Autrey, Bob Hope, Oliver Reed, and Michael Parkinson among others. I saw their visitor book entries anyway, not actually them don't be ridiculous.
Next stop Pimlico. It's got a lovely gallery 1.
