Did the bank holiday Monday on call without getting called... six more days to go. I know my friend on primary on call fielded a coupl eof calls, one which was an outrageous interruption. I guess the person making the call didn't realise it was a bank holiday here and so not working hours.
Very successful bin food run yesterday. I missed it on Sunday, but it's the same other days. Last hour before closing some things are marked down with yellow stickers, and if they have the secret symbol on too then it's free for staff. Last hour before closing is usually too late for me, but on a Sunday it's from 3pm to 4pm and on yesterday's bank holiday it was from 5pm to 6pm. I got potatoes and broccoli and a stir fry kit which I have put together into some bubble and squeak cake things, using a big round cookie cutter like a chef's ring. Very Masterchef. Also some nice bread and some mushrooms which I've had for breakfast today. It's one of the great rustic looking finest stone baked ones, will still last a couple of days. Then more bread and a couple of pasties for the freezer. Lunch for the week sorted.
Hoping to get away without commuting to the office, as I'm on call, and I could not respond while travelling... Clare has gone in today, so an early start. She got a seat and all is fine, and by the time she's back for our penne arrabiata tea half her commuting responsibility for the week will be done.
Today in 1992 was that friend's band gig where I picked up the flyer and found out a few years later I'd missed Radiohead by a few days.
Weather not so nice again, but not too bad, just cooler. Heating came on this morning.
