Blog2025 ≫ In tents

Result, I found a tent. Took a surfeit of pokemon cards up to the loft, and remembered to check out the big tent-shaped bag. Is it actually the tent? Or is it Clare's wedding dress, which is bundled up in a similar looking dry-cleaning bag somewhere... And yes it's a tent! It's a bit bigger than I'd like as I have to carry it myself, but better than buying a new one. I will have to set it up in the garden, maybe at the weekend.

Also found a sleeping bag, also making quite a big bundle on its own. So I hope that is my one which was bulkier than Clare's old one, will have to see.

Also found my festival bum bag, it still has two packets of tissues, gum, ibuprofen "meltlets" 1, a case for a torch and four batteries. At least two of them have leaked, I think the whole lot better go in the bin.

My old bum bag I last took to Glastonbury

I think these batteries are past their best.

Think these batteries might be past their best

Must have been there for over twenty years. Last time I went to Glastonbury was 2003. REM, Suede, The Darkness, Radiohead. Who's playing this year again? I'm sure these things look better in hindsight, but they were my highlights then and I think they'd be my highlights still now.

Maybe time to update my Glastonbury packing list. I don't think I even need to take batteries this time. And my newer running bum bag is probably better than that one. It's lighter, has more clipping-on points, and has two drink holders. Maybe I can wear both at once, a full on utility belt.

In other Pokemon news, I played two Pokemon battles with T2 last night instead of watching TV. I'm glad he's into playing with these cards now not just hoarding them. He even took the protective covers off his best cards so we could include them in the game! We played very carefully. It's a complicated game, but he likes complicated games like this.

Light cloud and a moderate breeze, 8 - 13℃.

  1. An expensive headache table you take without water, I don't think they make them any more. This used to be on my old recommended Glastonbury packing list!
