Blog2025 ≫ The council want me to pay to go to the tip

I just made a booking for the recycling centre, got some garden waste to get rid of, and they want me to pay £10 on arrival! It's for non residents they say. I am a resident and we gave our address when we made the booking. Wife made the first booking, and of course I blamed her for doing it wrong, but I just made a second booking and it did the wrong thing again. I blame the new loony council. How can they have fouled things up so quickly??

As the waste does not originate from within the Kent administrative area, a £10 cross-border fee will be payable on arrival (card payments only). Please see our cross border policy for more information.
