Sunday morning not having to get up super early, nothing particular to do. The weather in the night was a bit noisy, making a gate bang. I did not realise that Dad had gone out to deal with it! We had a peaceful morning and then a splendid roast dinner before having to head back.
I don't enjoy driving, and would nearly always prefer to be on the train. However we did pass a rail replacement bus going up the A3, so we probably did make the right decision. Plus this way it was easier for us to take the extra stuff back with us that we inevitably end up with.
The drive back was fine, we listened to an Agatha Christie radio dramatisation and had pretty clear roads. We stopped at Maidstone as we didn't have enough fuel to get home, and then we couldn't get back on the M20 at that point because of Operation Brock, but still no problems getting home. Now we're back to about the point I started this, when there was still more than a day of long weekend left.
As I write this on the Monday afternoon this is really the final day. I've done a proper shop in person at Tesco (though got loads of things wrong it seems, buy things too close to the sell by date) but the shop was cheaper than normal. We've just had a walk around Sandgate, but only up Hospital Hill, past the Clarendon and back down along the front. Not into Sandgate proper so I have not been able to see if that new Sandgate Mimosa place place is open yet, nor Anapurna. Probably they're not, but if you were aiming to open something soon surely a bank holiday weekend is a good point to aim for. Still we have another one in about two weeks, maybe it will be then.
I've had two lovely coffees this morning, I really do prefer my own coffee made at home to almost anywhere else I think, I've got it just right. My freshly ground beans, my good coffee machine, just the right proportions, and then my great coffee cups. It's too late to have another one now, but that's something to look forward to in the morning.
I had a quick peek at work, no problems but we're out of code freeze tomorrow so I have some queued up work to put live. That will soon fill up the day, then it's a short week with pay day at the end and then back to another weekend of pubs and holiday planning.
Sunny and a moderate breeze, 6 - 14℃.
Estimated 2434 cups of coffee from my espresso machine 1 probably comes to £0.94 a cup (including 3+ years of coffee beans and now servicing 1 so not the 'leccy).
