What's the rule when the headline is a question? I suspect that is a no. One of these was one of the prizes on the work advent calendar last year. I opened that every day, putting me in a draw for prizes like that. There were multiple prizes every day, and it ran for twenty-four days, and only a few thousand people entered each day. I thought my odds were pretty good, and I should have won something. But no. And neither did anyone in our department.
Work was good yesterday, really good. First, I was instrumental in SMASHING a mini project that we started and finished in really good time. We had a job to do over a few weeks, and we got the whole thing done in a few days, just in time to brag about it at the all hands meeting. It went so well that we were rewarded with an early finish. However, of the four people who really worked on this project, one had the day off anyway so sort of missed out, then the other three of us had to stay late fixing something. So everyone not involved in the project got to leave early. You're welcome guys!
Second good thing at work was actually the broken thing, something went wrong right at leaving time, but in staying to fix it I learned some new devops stuff. And that's an objective for me so it's all good.
I got out of work at five, so same time as normal for a Friday, nearly early enough to catch the good weather. I walked to Sandgate and back, and it was nice. Could see some stragglers still on the beach.
Watched Marvel's The Eternals last night, it was much better than I was expecting. I think it leads into the latest Captain America film which we still haven't seen yet. It's going to be on TV before we get round to it at this rate.
