I suspect not much better off. At least I don't have to worry about the capital gains tax from selling shares at a profit. Shares have absolutely TANKED, Lloyds are down 15% over the last week. I did sell some shares at what turns out to be the peak, just a few to cover the cost of the beetle repair, and when they dropped slightly I thought "I sold those at the right time". But they kept dropping, and the decrease in value since then is way more than the amount I realised by cashing in. I have to think "at least they were up when I did need to cash in" rather than "I wish I had cashed them all in".
No idea how much the beetle repair is yet, I've not heard back from them this week. They've had it for over a week. I hope they've not been working on it every day. The longer it's there the better I think, the longer it is there the greater the chance my estate will have to pay the costs rather than me.
I also sold my Tesla shares (both of them). Not so much about making money, just about losing the association with the republican party. Go Kamala Harris, good luck.
Work is going well, very busy, but enjoying it. Worked through again, did get round to making a coffee today but kept working right through lunch, didn't even have anything to eat today. I have been fuelled by the joy of the work. I've done as much work as I can right now, the whole new secret thing is working, I just need to plug in the copy. There is an agency working on the wording and then it has to go through the in house people, then someone plugs it into the designs they did to make sure it still works, then they give the designs back to me and hopefully it hasn't changed too much from the previous version they gave me. I've done some good work on a dashboard for this too, for monioring it, and on another one for another big work event.
Going in to the office tomorrow, when I could probably get away with not. I am really interested in this project and the next steps of it though and want to make sure I'm "in the room". Other people are coming in to London for this meeting, it will be good to hang out with them.
Clare is going to take me to the station in the morning and then I'll probably walk back after as they might be out trick or treating.
Went for a walk after work, it was better and less gloomy than the other day. Still pitch black out there obviously, but the streets were a bit busier. Weather not as windy, not as cold, but the air did feel damp and slightly spittyI walked round Sandgate and back, and did see people in Docker and John Dory, but the traditional pubs looked empty. Bit early maybe and only a Wednesday. Still more days of not drinking for me, most likely break that on Friday.
Foggy and light winds, 10 - 15℃.
Estimated 2088 cups of coffee from my espresso machine 1 probably comes to £0.98 a cup (including the coffee and servicing 1 but not the electricity).
