I am on call at work this week. Only second line on call, but I could get called in the middle of the night. This is quite unlikely, but it is the reason I am not drinking this week. Now, what happens if I get called in the middle of the night and I'm in the dorm in the hostel? I'll have to leave my phone on not-quite-silent and I'll risk waking other people in the dorm up. No-one seems to have been that bothered about waking other people in the hostel up so far so I'm sure it's fine. But then what? At home I could just nip downstairs, log on, see what the issue is, work if necessary. In the hostel what can I do? I can go out to the hallway initially, so I guess I'll keep my laptop with me overnight. So that means if I go to the cinema or something I'm taking that with me. I could jump out of bed and be back in the office in fifteen minutes, maybe that is ok too. I will figure it out at work.
Thundery showers and a moderate breeze, 12 - 17℃.
