Blog2024 ≫ Lovely weekend

Mum and Dad visiting, and we had a very nice weekend. Friday night Clare made fajitas, which made an awesome change; we nearly always do pasta one night and takeaway the next. The fajitas were all prepped, have we got time to nip out to the pub? Just Clare and I, and not a second to waste, so we drove to The Potting Shed, raced down a couple of pints, and got the bus back. Very nice to be in there with my wife, I think it quite confused the regulars. Back to make the fajitas, eat the fajitas, clear up, and a game of Trivial Pursuits. Dad won.

Saturday, no park run for me, have had a bit of a bad back all week. Quite a relaxed day, but drove to the Harbour Arm and played some shuffleboard in The Boardroom. Had an alcohol free beer there, and we got a of of their platters for our lunch. The vege one was vegetable crudites and olives and hummus, and a debate over whether it should have come with bread or not (the menu said it should come with bread). The meat one looked quite impressive but the boys didn't actually like any of the meats on offer.

Out for a walk round Sandgate and back, the walk that we didn't get in the day before, and back to pick up a Thai takeaway from Daow's Kitchen. I think that was also a success. And after much negotiating this was also Mum and Dad's treat. I had tofu yellow curry, and I've still got some of mum's vege Massaman curry left for lunch tomorrow. Then Strictly, and then bed. A Saturday night of not drinking for me. Today a lazy day, not great weather, but nice sitting round drinking coffee.

I did some work this afternoon, a problem that had been puzzling me on Friday. Think I have solved it.

More exercise next weekend, think I'm going to take T1 to parkrun, and then T2 to junior parkrun which has started up in Folkestone.

Thundery showers and a gentle breeze, 14 - 18℃.

Estimated 2012 cups of coffee from my espresso machine 1 probably comes to £1.00 a cup (including actual coffee and servicing 1 so not the 'leccy).
