Went in to the London office in the end to have my laptop looked at. It was late enough by the time this was decided, so I got the off-peak fare of £27 return. A nice change to the normal £80. I took my laptop to tech support, and after few minutes of "I think it's fine, it'll charge" denial, he agreed it's dead. It's out of warranty, there's no fixing it, he gave me a replacement one. I nearly got a worse laptop I think, but I said I'd not be able to do anything without the little fingerprint sensor as I can't remember passwords so will need that. So it seems to be a newer faster macbook, though still not actually new.
It was past lunchtime by the time I'd got it, and into another meeting. I'd already missed some today, so I was quite relaxed about this. Then spent the rest of the day setting things up, getting passwords, installing stuff. I think I'd done quite well to complete and deploy some work by the end of the day.
I got a salad box from Ptooch for my lunch, which I ate while mostly avoiding that meeting. Then we went for a coffee break later, first to Prufrock as my manager likes the banana loaf from there, but not the coffee, so somewhere else for the coffee. A bit decadent isn't it, but the coffee was good. Mostly we avoided the coffee queue in the first place, it's very popular. The second place is really nice, and it turns out they do vegan chocolate and banana loaf, so maybe just the one stop next time.
Home again, and I walked back from Folkestone West. Completely wasted step count though as my watch battery died as I got off the train. It's hot out, but threatening a storm. Bright sun one direction and a very black sky in another.
This is day three of not drinking, but that's easy because it's still midweek.
Light rain and a gentle breeze, 13 - 21℃.
Estimated 1876 cups of coffee from my barista pro 1 prob'ly comes to £1.02 a cup (including the coffee and now servicing 1 but not the 'leccy).
