Blog ≫ 2024 ≫ Did our final two days in the office
We survived two more days of work, in the London office. After Wednesday night's pizza fail we headed back to Pizza Pilgrim in Exmouth Market again. It was open and it was very good. I had a vege pizza with no cheese (though they did offer vegan cheese as an extra) with a cucumber salad, olives, and a cocktail. I meant for the olives to come first with the drinks but it all arrived at once. T1 had double pepperoni and was very pleased with that.
As we were a bit early to eat, after another huge leather lane lunch (though this time actually mostly salad), we took a bit of a walk before dinner. I had spotted Grimaldi Park on the map. It's a park that houses the grave of Joseph Grimaldi, eighteenth century music hall star, and the father of clowning. Bit of a grotty park really, but something to see. It must have been a proper graveyard in the past but all the other graves have been cleared, only his remained. As well as the grave there are two strange coffin-shaped markers on the ground. I thought these must be the site of the actual grave, and what looks like a proper grave be faked up in a more convenient location. But no, the strange shape is a thing that plays music when you step on it. We didn't know this until after we'd left.
Friday was as busy as all the other days in the office really. T1 had an exit interview and received a certificate for his work experience, he was very pleased with this. I think he had a good week, met lots of people and did some coding training. Don't know if he'll keep it up, but maybe. I had a meeting in the afternoon, otherwise I think my boss might have said go home even earlier. We left after the meeting and got a train home just after 4pm. Lovely to see Clare and T2 again after a week away. I got a ready meal from Tesco and had a sensible night in watching TV.
