Friday night Potting Shed. Had a rollercoaster of plan changes for the forthcoming Suede and Manics gig. First my friend said do I know anyone who wants his ticket, he has a work do. But he was going to drive us. Then we got talking to other friends in the Potting Shed and they a) talked him back into it and b) offered to drive us there. I will have to speak to them again this week to give them an opportunity to back out of that.
Saturday boys were both out for the day, so Clare and I got jobs done, then went briefly to Docker (this is becoming a habit) and watched the first half of the football, then home for the second half, and the boys were delivered home after that.
Sunday up quite early and off to Greenwich for the day! Not great weather but a lovely day anyway. First to The Green Cafewhere we have been before, this time just for coffee. Well not actually a coffee for me in the end, I had a beetroot, lions mane and cacao something or other. I thought it was a latte but in the end I don't think there was any coffee in it. It was nice though.
We had an AirBnB booked, but could not check in until two, but thought I'd ask the host a question while we were in the cafe, and drop in that we were just round the corner. It worked and they said check in when you like, here's the combination of the key safe. It was in an intimidating looking tower block, but really well located, and nice inside. Well I thought so, Clare was quite set against it. It was on the 13th floor if we needed another omen.
From our airbnb to the pub, to The Trafalgar Tavern. It was very busy but we had a table that wasn't reserved for another hour and we sat and played cards. From there to the ice cream parlour that the boys had been looking forward to. Then a look round the maritime museum, some interesting stuff there including Nelson's actual spork. Well, a knife / fork combo that he used after he lost his arm.
Then briefly to another pub, the Richard I before our Italian dinner at The Prince Of Greenwich. At first we weren't sure about it, the menu wasn't the same as online, and they could make no changes. They didn't seem to have anything we wanted and were not seeming that helpful about it. But it all settled down, the food was great and we were very pleased.
Back to our airbnb to watch TV, not too late a night.
Guessing 1860 cups of coffee from my espresso machine 1 probably comes to £1.03 a cup (including the coffee and servicing 1 so not the 'leccy).
