Blog2024 ≫ Guess what? Busy

Work is chocka. I stopped for lunch today to go for a run with the boys. Back to the regime, a 1km walk warm-up and then a 1km run, and they'd already done 1km on the treadmill before that. T1 was faster than last time, T2 was slower. He was very pleased at how he had paced himself, I said if he was not worn out at the end of the run then he did not pace himself well at all, but he's not having it. He wants to be fitter for sports day but he thinks he knows best, where do they get it from?

Got back from the run and thought "do I have time to go to Tesco and get some lunch? I'll just check my schedule"... I was a few minutes late for a meeting and then had solid calls all afternoon. I got out of one at the end of the day, as it was planning what to do the next day, and I have the day off. But then they started planning undoing some work that I had been passionately defending only an hour before. Someone wanted this work taken out, and though they claimed they would go with a majority decision they recruited a new majority. I had to join the meeting to try and get everyone back onside. We compromised in the end, those who wanted to keep the work would help with writing tests to make sure it is now solid, those wanted it taken out did not have to help. I have made a list of those who did not want to help. As I have the day off tomorrow I could not help but I worked a few hours tonight writing some tests and have got about 1/3 of the total work done so they should be OK.

Not sure what we're doing with the day off. T1 has revision, he has done none all week and absolutely freaked out at being reminded of this. Of course he should not try and do any now to catch up, that's not fair! We might go swimming, then I will go to the pub about tea-time when Clare gets in.

Not too many more of my pub sessions disrupted by Clare's work, she has handed her notice in.

Light rain and a moderate breeze, 11 - 16℃.
