This smart thermostatic radiator valve 1 (TRV) really does need the hub in order to work. At least it needs the hub in order to configure it. It does work without a hub, but then it's not a smart TRV, it's just a dumb TRV. And the display on it is upside down until you configure it with the app. I might get the hub at some point, but for now this was a bad purchase.
My light switch is good though 1, and that is in, and my energy monitoring plugs are good 1 are good, and in. I still haven't put them through their paces though, and 're another 25% off since I bought them, dang.
