Blog2024 ≫ I recycled my recycling centre booking

Had a trip to the tip booked today, to take the garden trimmings, but now changed plans. I was going to take Clare into work and do some complicated running about so we could go out tonight without the car, but now she's taken the car and is leaving it at work. So my booking for the tip is now no good, but I was able to cancel it. I could possibly re-book and take the beetle up there (what do you man leave it up there?) but I think I'll just leave the trimmings bagged up and do it next week. Oh also skipped parkrun for the same reason.

Just about managed to use yesterday's free energy1, as while we were out swimming we came back again about 4pm so I put the swimming stuff in a quick wash (free) and then a tumbled dry (also free).

Swimming was quite good, though the lazy river was mostly closed and there were lots of small kids there all queueing for the flumes. I think we'll look for another swimming pool for next time, have to go a bit further afield.

Lunch before that was good though, burgers in Matches Sports Bar in Ashford. We thought the food was going to be just right, the boys were keen to go just for that, but when we got there we found retro games consoles in the booths too. So the boys got to play Nintendo 64 Mario Kart, instead of just watching other people play it on youtube. I think they preferred that to the swimming and they're quite keen to go back.

Today more gardening, not going too far.

Sunny and a moderate breeze, 7 - 17℃.
