Blog ≫ 2024 ≫ Totally got away with being on call
That was a result, been on call for seven days and did not get called once. It did mean I could not go properly out, or away, that's what I'm being paid for. But nice to not have been woken up in the night. We have still been out too, just not "out out". I've done a little work in the garden, we walked to Sandgate and to Hythe, and I did Parkrun in Folkestone. Just had to keep my phone on and my laptop nearby.
I've been thinking about work A LOT though, keeping coming back to this idea of new alerts around error budget and burn rate. Wondering if I should change anything as it's been this quiet. Might not have been this quiet for the first line on call person, I was only second line.
Clare at pump class now, the boys are distraught as I said we have to do some cleaning. There are bits in the boys room the cleaners never gets to, dust trap mountains of lego models and stacks of comics. Some of that can go.
Friend was at a party in Portsmouth this weekend, some relatives had hired a house there to visit. He tried to find a similar house to see what the price might be. This is not a similar house, but good grief. Five million quid! And only four bedrooms.
