Blog2023 ≫ Lovely lazy weekend

Not done too much this weekend while Mum and Dad have been visiting. Friday lunchtime I started preparing a bit pasta dish in the Ninja. Then while Mum and Dad sat in with the boys before dinner was ready Clare and I legged it down to Sandgate and went for a pint in The Ship. It is nice in there, I'm warming more and more to it. That would be our only pubbing for the weekend. We went back to put the pasta onand we all had that with some of my new Alsace wine from Wine Society.

Saturday morning no parkrun, took the Hyundai for MOT and then we all went to the Harbour Arm. Was a bit early, not a lot open, but one new place Sailbox was a really good spot for breakfast. Then home again for a lazy afternoon. Took Clare to her christmas party and we got an Indian takeaway from Cheriton Balti and watched Strictly Come Dancing final. Then I picked Clare up again and we watched Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny when she got back. Time travel!

This afternoon we went to Hythe for a walk and went in Twenty Four for a little lunch. They did a vegan cheese sandwich in there, while Clare had bubble and squeak and the boys had sausage rolls. That inspired me (that and accidentally ordering too many brussel sprouts) so I'm doing some bubble and squeak in the Ninja for my tea. Went up to Tesco to get potatoes, and use the last of my 20% discount, and got a load of free stuff too. We get stuff that's expiring today if it's still left in the last hour of trading. Clubcard colleague discount is good. Some of it was good for the freezer, but I have some chilli and falafels that I will have with my tea. Good mix.

We were going out to look at christmas lights about now, but now can't be bothered. So time for a mulled wine instead, and then watch a christmas film.

Looks like I was at two gigs on the same day today, David Devant earlier, and then Gorillaz later, both this day in 2001.

Light cloud and a moderate breeze, 7 - 9℃.
