Happy birthday to Dim, eighty years young yesterday. We went for lunch to The Harbour Inn, as not many places open on a Monday. I had banana blossom fake fish and chips for the first time, and probably the last time. I had to get them to check it was not really something fleshy by mistake. It's quite weird, and the whole thing was a bit greasy really. Also it took us ages to get served even though the place was empty. Generally the food in this chain of venues (Luben etc) is good and generally the service is a bit crap in my opinion. This time the food was not quite right either. The rest of it was alright, a nice touch having a grilled lemon with the fish and chips, plus mushy peas, but it was not the best. Then a quick race back for work before I even saw his birthday cake.
