Blog2023 ≫ Too cold for parkrun

Parkrun was on, but I was concerned about it being icy underfoot, so did not run. I did volunteer though, see my virtue signalling:

Thank you for volunteering at Folkestone parkrun, event number 411 on 2023-12-02

Nearly forgot the free energy hours today, unusual to have them on a Saturday. Just about got a wash in, and pressure cooked some potatoes in the Ninja to air fry later with my tea. Did not get the tumble dryer on. Actually as I write this it has just passed 1pm and the washing machine is even still on. I'm sat here with wet hair from my shower, I could have been using the hair dryer and everything! Sign up here1 to get in on this Octopus Energy lark.

Now time for either a long queue for a haircut and a short visit to the Potting Shed before Grandpa brings the boys home, or sack off the haircut and a longer visit to the pub. Will walk in to Hythe either way.

Oh good news about train fares being made simpler. My commute to London will be simplified from about £75 per day to about £85 per day, thanks. Two singles will now cost the same as a return, but they are introducing an evening peak period when I think the Network card won't be valid, so I'll just have to buy a return, instead of a normal single in and a Network Card discounted single home. Still, this week there's a train strike so I won't be going in anyway. Handy as it has been an expensive month, mostly christmas shopping but also that tax thing. I am now overdrawn until Friday.

Sunny and a gentle breeze, -1 - 2℃.
