Blog2023 ≫ Home Assistant breakages and fixages

Something happened again, not sure what, but some lightbulbs disappeared from Home Assistant. This included my Sonos surround lamps in the lounge, playroom lights, and one of T2's bedroom lights. They all went at the same time and all at the time of a software update I think. I've readded the lamps, just reset them an added them again and they appear in the same place in the same automations, all good. I'll try again with the bedroom and playroom lights, and not do any more software updates.

I also got one smart switch, which I'll be trying1. Actually need to wire this one in, not quite sure how it works yet. It is rare for a smart wall switch in that it has an optional neutral wire (USA has a neutral wire at the switch and UK generally does not) and I'm not sure what functionality I get without the neutral wire. Does it work only as a manual switch? Does the smart switch only work when the manual switch is on? I'm really hoping it can a) replace the wall switch, b) look good, and c) give me some smart options (I can trigger events when the switch is clicked / up / down / held down / double tapped / etc.
