Good news, we're getting a new car! Another Hyundai, sorted a few weeks ago so I already mentioned it here. New car not ready yet, maybe next month, maybe January. Original car at end of three year finance deal, finance company sent a letter saying we owe the balance on it. Also as it's been three years now, we have to get it taxed again, oh and now it needs an MOT. This was not the deal! We were expecting to hand this car back, take the new car, carry on as if nothing has happened. The whole point of doing a "lease" deal like this was so as to avoid all this! But no, it's not actually a lease, all that's happened is we've gone into the car dealership who are called Hyundai, and they have ordered a car for us from the manufacturer (also called Hyundai) and arranged finance with a third company (also called Hyundai). Any complications are down to us, the new car not there, it's not Hyundai (the dealer)'s fault, in fact it's our fault now you think about it because we wanted a new car rather than the ex-demo one they tried to give us. And the problems with the finance, that's not the dealer's issue either. We need to go to the finance company and either pay it off in full or arrange more finance with them. We're not dealing with Hyundai, we're dealing with three unrelated companies all called Hyundai, couldn't be clearer. No they can't sort it out between themselves though.
Definitely should have just sorted the money ourselves, bought car outright, avoided all this crap.
Just found this, didn't realise we nearly bought an i20 before.
In other "I was right all along" news, I found a voucher attached to the fridge earlier, for a spa day, expired six months ago. Clare asked for this for christmas or birthday last year. I said at the time "most vouchers never get spent, it's dead money". I can say "I told you so" here on the blog as I can't say it in real life.
Clare is at a spa day today, at a different place, not where the voucher was. I have ruined her day of relaxation by sending her messages, someone is going to repossess the car...
