Blog2023 ≫ Out for dinner to the Bouverie Tap

Instead of cancelling the restaurant we had booked for our visitors (who had cancelled themselves) we kept it and went by ourselves. Very nice and quite a good deal too. I had the vegan roast dinner which this time was "cauliflower cheese" pie, and it was really good. If there was any fake cheese in there there wasn't much. Clare and T2 had roast chicken, T1 had a massive burger. We'd go there again, though I think they rotate the vege option all the time so it might not be the same. They did say the vege option is always vegan.

I had a real ale there with my dinner and we left the car in town and walked back. Via Sandgate, so a brief stop for another drink! Tried The Ship again but there was nowhere to sit so went back to Docker. I had the same beer as yesterday but also some mulled cider just for the warming novelty of it. Clare and the boys got the bus back from there but I walked just to get a little light exercise in.
