Blog2023 ≫ Good day to cross the channel

Small boats everywhere here, it is a rowing regatta in Sandgate today. Rowing boats and dinghies all over the shop. T2 and I just saw it all when we walked back from Folkestone (T1 had headed home earlier on the bus, and Clare is at work).

Good weekend so far. I headed straight to the Potting Shed when Clare got in from work yesterday, after quite a productive day of work. Started off quiet in there, it's peak holiday time for the old people who frequent that place, but some friends came in towards the end. I bought a book off someone in there, "Book John" has self published a short crime thriller, which I will read.

This morning up early to go into Folkestone with Clare so I can do parkrun. Took the boys in Costa Coffee for breakfast, then to parkrun. It was very hot, not very fast.

Folkestone parkrun results for event #400. Your time was 00:26:17.

Congratulations on completing your 134th parkrun and your 121st at Folkestone parkrun today. You finished in 100th place and were the 78th Male out of a field of 269 parkrunners and you came 8th in your age category VM50-54. Take a look at this week's full set of results on our website. Your PB at Folkestone parkrun remains 00:20:50. Your best time this year remains 00:23:24.

Then a wander around town, up and down the Old High Street and to lunch in Dr Legumes. I thought it was great, and T1 did pretty well, but T2 less so. I bought a different meal to him so he could swap, I thought it would be a bit adventurous, but he didn't eat much of the other one either.

Then a hot walk back with a brief stop in The Norfolk for a real ale I was not quite sure about, had things floating in it.

Now home to do some cooking, something for the boys tea and plan something for dinner for all of us tomorrow.

Estimated 1268 cups of coffee from my espresso machine1 probably comes to £1.21 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 but not the 'leccy).
