Blog2023 ≫ Eleven plus done then

Today was the day of the test. Everyone up early, T2 into school an hour early for a pre-test breakfast. Nothing more we can do at this stage.

When he came out again he was confident it had gone well. The problem is so was everyone else. There seemed to have been lots of things missing that we had specially covered. No cubes and nets, no algebra, no spelling, no punctuation.

If they have made it easier because of covid or something, that doesn't do him any favours. If they've made it easier, they're just going to have to raise the pass mark aren't they? They can't have more people getting into grammar school, there's only so many vacancies. Still not a lot we can do now, that is the Kent test done. He does have The Shepway Test still to go, this is like the second bite of the cherry purely for The Harvey Grammar School in Folkestone. As this is the one we want him to go to anyway each test counts the same.

Next test is Saturday morning, and then we're done, and then we just wait.
