Reverse order-ish again. Our dinner in the Prince Of Greenwich was great. I didn't fully realise we were ordering off-menu until later in the weekend, but we ordered more or less what we'd had before - arrabiata for me - and it arrived. The boss was not there, it reminded us of being in Rome and everyone there taking their holidays in August, maybe this is what all Italians do. Anyway, fed and watered we went back to the hotel relatively early. The others watched TV and I fell asleep. That last bit is not in reverse order like the rest of the weekend, sorry.
We had a pre-dinner drink in the Richard The First, a pub I'd been in alone last time. It is huge, has a huge garden. Last time I only sat in the front bar but this time we all sat in the busy garden.
We went through the foot tunnel to the Isle Of Dogs to see what we could see. Island Gardens is the other side, a great big park area. The tunnel itself was adventure enough really, the park was an added bonus. We found a pub on the other side The Waterman's which was quiet on a Friday afternoon, was quite smart and welcoming though. We played cards and plotted the rest of our weekend.
We got checked into the hotel early, having paid in advance (through the nose) to park underneath. The drive up was fine as we'd got away early, Clare having taken the whole day off.
And so begins our weekend.
