We moved our London trip because there was a train strike, and now there's another train strike on the day we moved it to. I think we're going to end up losing our theatre tickets at this rate.
There's one at the bank holiday weekend but that doesn't mess with any of my plans. Yet.
Our options now are
Looked at the coach. Three hours with the kids, not much fun. Also can't get on an early coach to make the day of it, earliest is after lunch, wouldn't get there until after 4pm. So not great. No guarantee Clare would be able to join us even as she'd have to try her luck on trains or coach the next day. AND it's more expensive than it was before, because it's not in advance and they yield the prices. People got to get to work that day...
If we drive up Greenwich is doable. We love it and we said we'd stay there again. Assuming we can get from there to the centre by boat and tube again then this sounds good. Same hotel is available, and it's cheaper than the one we did have booked, so the money I get back will pay for the parking.
Postponing the trip would be a last resort we've been looking forward to this.
Greenwich booked, this trip is still on!
