Blog2023 ≫ Folkestone heaving today for the air show

Nice to see town so busy, and nice to see this air show might pay for itself! Not from the increased takings on food and drink, I suspect most of those food and drink stalls were from out of town, but from all the parking fines. I could see loads of people coming into town, parking where they did last year, not spotting that so much more of the town is permit parking limited to one hour now.

Air show itself was good, there was more to it than I thought. We saw the memorial flyover of the Spitfire, Hurricane, and Lancaster Bomber, they flew over a few times. There were also stunt planes, and the Red Arrows.

It was hella hot there. Probably everyone local we know was there, but we only actually bumped into a few people. The boys went on fairground rides that they enjoyed, and I had some great vegan food that I very much enjoyed. So much choice I could have had it all. I have just realised the lady on that stall was the lady from Beano in Folkestone... I also had a good cider.

We walked home instead of battling on to a bus, along the beach, and stopped to break up the journey in The Norfolk. I didn't risk their real ale today but I had a bottle of Timothy Taylor.

Made a sort of vegan sausage gumbo in the Ninja yesterday, and made some roast potatoes to accompany it this morning, so that's for dinner tonight.

So hot and sunny today I don't think I put enough sun cream on. I know I didn't in fact, I only put a bit on my face and neck and ears and now my arms are glowing.
