Blog2023 ≫ Hot parkrun

Went to the Potting Shed yesterday and had a great time, staying until closing at just after 9pm. So, feeling GREAT for parkrun today! Actually felt better and more sprightly than I did yesterday morning after a night of not drinking. So what is the lesson here?

Slow parkrun. It was hot and seemed very crowded, was hard to get started.

We got the bus to parkrun today, and it was only on the return journey that I realised we didn't need to get the bus at all. That was always the plan as I thought both boys were coming with me and we can't fit three in the beetle. But last minute T1 didn't want to come. Anyway the bus was fine. Met a friend from the Inn Doors on the return journey too, he says the old landlord was back in town yesterday. Don't know if he went to Docker or not.

In other local bar news the Sandgate Hotel is definitely reopening. It's been taken on by the person who has the wine shop in Hythe. So it might be good, if it has a good range of wine. Previously it did not.

It's our wedding anniversary today but Clare is working all weekend so doesn't want to go out. I'm going to cook something for dinner, got the Ninja on already. Will try and get a few meals prepped for the week. Then maybe a bit of sitting on balcony. Weather is good today.

Sad news about a boat sinking in the channel today.
