Blog2023 ≫ Crazy busy day today

Work was crazy today, every time I looked away there was another incident. So lots of calls and lots of reporting, but still found time to get some actual work in. It's pay day too so did my discount lunchtime shop with one of the boys, leaving the other one here. We stocked up on treats, sweets and fizzy drinks, and some of the bigger items like washing powder. Saved £45 in theory on our hasty trolley dash, there were some significant savings on the crates of Coke Zero.

Done for the day now, did pizza for the boys and a pasty for me. Clare is out tonight and I'm picking her up later as taxis are so hard these days, so not drinking.

Have a sort of plan for tomorrow, I have most of the day free. Running in the morning, then trying to fit in a hair cut, a Dr Legumes lunch, a coffee or maybe even a cocktail in Folklore - really enjoyed my coffee break in there last week - and seeing Indiana Jones at the cinema. That's a lot to fit in. I also want to walk to and from Folkestone. Something might have to give, and it might be the cinema.

Waiting for the boys to finish watching the first Spiderman / Spiderverse1 film and then we'll watch something together. Hopefully finish Mortal Engines1, and then something Star Wars, and then probably Breaking Bad.

I have a pleasingly round quarter century ago gig today, it is an NME Brats night with Baby Bird, Idlewild, Scorr 4 and Unbelievable Truth. Hmm they weren't all gold were they. At least this would definitely have been a free one in the NME days. Also twenty-nine years ago today the shimmy shammy Sultans Of Ping at the Wedgewood Rooms.

Guessing 1154 cups of coffee from my espresso machine1 prob'ly comes to £1.27 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 but not the 'leccy).
