I am doing the extra job that gets rotated around the team, only comes to me about every twelve weeks. Often my manager shields me from it too if I can make out I'm doing something more important... but this week I'm taking my turn, being point of contact for the team and any adhoc issues that arise. And today they have been legion! Not actual issues caused by our team, mostly confusion on the part of other people, not sure what is going on, better dial that team in. As the day goes on I am getting sterner and snappier and quickly deflecting issues. Hopefully not making too many enemies.
Also our internets are absolutely bust today, download speed of close to zero. Upload is fine though. I contacted Trooli, our internet service provider, and they say they are aware of an issue in our area. Half expecting someone to come and dig up the road to solve it, but I hope not. "A big hole has appeard in the road. The council are looking into it"...
