Blog2023 ≫ Friday day off 1. The Barrel Vault

Right, Friday, and no work! It's a day out for a friend's birthday. Actual birthday was back in March but this was a day to get friends from around the country together, and drink beer.

I planned to pick him up in the beetle and leave it at the station, but Clare was off and offered to take us. So we were actually quite early with not having to work out parking etc. Train on time, got a coffee, got a seat, and we're off.

We had a cooked breakfast but not yet drinking in the Barrel Vault, the Wetherspoons at St Pancras. It was alright. Then we'd planned to get a train to Farringdon, but I talked us into walking. It's not far, it's the journey I do for work all the time. It was raining, but no problem.

Estimated 1142 cups of coffee from my espresso machine1 probably comes to £1.27 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 but not the 'leccy).
