Blog2023 ≫ Blur play Hammersmith Odeon

We're meant to call it something else these days but it's still Hammersmith Odeon to me (even though it's been not Hammersmith Odeon for a much larger proportion of my awareness of it than it ever was). Fresh from two sold out Wembley Stadiums full of people (Wembley Stadia? Wembleys Stadium? Wemblies?) they're doing Hammy O. You can only go into the draw for tickets, or get access to tickets, or whatever, if you pre-order the album. I would actually like the vinyl so I hope Clare is reading this. The gig is actually 25th July, two weeks today, so I don't think that would work out for us anyway.

Clare was at your actual Blur gig at the weekend of course, and had a great time. She was in the royal box hanging out with all the big knobs, including Simon Pegg, David Baddiel, Josh Widdicome, and actual Blur at the after show bar.

Hella busy day at work today, made busy by me sort of breaking something and then heroically fixing it. Then at the end of the day getting involved in a "er yes, I think I did technically break this, but as you're so far through fixing it could you carry on please?". With me on the asking and not fixing side for a change. Work is generally going really well.

T2 had a school concert today and I thought I could not attend, but at the last minute I had a gap and raced along there. His class did a medley of Queen songs and he was dressed like a rock star all day.

I'm half way through this week now, as I have a day off on Friday.

Four years ago today I was at KISS at the O2, just like I was six days ago today! I looked at the set list, and they did play Crazy Crazy Nights that time. Twenty one years ago today I was at The Darkness, and THIRTY-TWO years ago today I was at something, Atom Seed I think. I am not sure, because I know I have a ticket that says another band's name on it and I seem to think we were given those in lieu of actual tickets on the door.
