Blog2023 ≫ Sunday we avoided the weather again

Saturday on the best day of the year we headed inland to Ashford, which I never like doing. I never like goingto Ashford at all, but to head away from the sea when it's a nice day always feels wrong. Still, couldn't do anything about it, T1's birthday and his choice.

So what did we do on Sunday when it was another beautiful day? We at least stayed in Folkestone, but we shut ourselves in a darkened cinema for several hours. The boys wanted to see the new Spiderman film "Across The Spiderverse" so I took them and a friend. It was good, confusing at first, but good. It's clever how they have joined up all the different versions of Spiderman.

On the way back we had to go in Sainsbury's and there was a big display of that Prime drink that all the kids are keen on. It's not quite as essential as it was a few months back - T1 even threw away his collection of empty bottles this weekend - but they were still pleased to get some. And "only" £2 a bottle now, rather than the inflated secondary-market prices we had been paying. We bought an extra one for the school. I needed a tombola prize for the school's summer fair this Friday.

After the cinema we all went to The Clarendon, and then when Clare and the boys left for tea a friend came and joined me and we had more beer and chat in the remaining sun.
