Saturday as Clare was on her way back T2 and I walked out along the beach to get an ice cream. He hadn't been out for fresh air all day, but I left T1 in because he'd already done parkrun. More or less done parkrun. We walked along to the Clarendon, and then Clare and T1 did join us and we sat and had a drink their before our tea. On the way back we walked past Three Bears Cottage, it is being demolished and I'm guessing ten luxury flats built where it was. It's a great spot with a great view, you cannot normally see this much of the cottage from the road but the garden has been cut right back. I was going to say something smart about the big bad wolf finally getting to them, but of course that's the three little pigs and not the three bears.

Yesterday was a bit of a lazier day, but we headed into Folkestone in the afternoon. We were aiming to play mini-golf but it was crazy busy as it was such a lovely day. So we just sat in the new "Brewing Brothers Beachside" bar by the mini golf. Folkestone really is nice now, it's got where it was suggesting it might be. When I went to London last week an old friend there said we really were early adopters and Folkestone finally was what we thought it could be. I think she had looked into moving down here.

If anything I think it was too hot when we were out yesterday. The development of the Harbour Arm area is happening fast, so this new place is not quite bedded in yet. The bar is built in shipping containers, on the car park sort of area in the land near to the harbour arm. You are kind of on the beach, you can see down to the sea, but it did feel like a bit of a concrete sun trap. A sun trap none the less, but I think it will soften a bit over time. Still a bit like sitting in a sea side car park, rather than on the beach. There were just too many people about too. Still not a problem I imagined Folkestone having when we first moved down here1.

Brewing Brothers has a big old pizza oven in there too, but instead of trying that. We headed up to Luben. I'm a bit over Luben really but everyone else likes it and my food was good. I had vegan meatball skillet and then vegan mac and cheese, and then drove home to watch more Star Wars.

This morning so far Clare and I have been to pump class. I think she's overdoing the exercise her back is aching most days. She's seeing a physio this week through work. I'm going to do a bit more, I've really been not running recently, I've been doing nothing but parkrun. I used to go out three times a week. It's a great day for it so I will do a bit of tidying here, let my post-pump breakfast go down and then go out. I could do with running past the Leas Cliff Hall really, on the offchance that my hoodie is there. I left it hanging on the railings while doing parkrun. It's unlikely to still be there. Bit annoying, but I was looking for an excuse to buy another one.

Nice to have most of the day off in front of me, and then quite a cushy week. Not going to London for work, and I have a day off to spend with the boys midweek too.
