Blog2023 ≫ Beautiful day here today

Took full advantage of a free afternoon yesterday, and instead of doing the charity shop decluttering I took a walk into Hythe in the sunshine. Got myself a table for one at Root and had the lunch that Clare and I did not manage last week. I was there a bit late and they'd sold out of things, but I had a raspberry smoothy with oat milk or something, that was OK, then a delicious rainbow bowl, with various veg, hummus, and guacamole. It should have had flatbread but they were out. They were also out of vegan cakes, so I had a a turmeric tea. Not really a substitute. A nice place, I'd give it another go.

Then to The Potting Shed for the afternoon, and it was very very quite but nice. Caught up on the gossip of the other pubs; apparently The Ship is open again, the new owner is in The Inn Doors, and The Clarendon has applied for change of use. Don't like the sound of that last one. I left just as people started to come in. Was back just in time for Clare to go out. She had a nice evening in Folkestone but didn't think much of her meal, nor of a long wait for a taxi to bring her home. She got in after I'd gone to bed (I sensibly just had one more beer watching the rest of the Motley Crue film The Dirt) but then she had to ring the doorbell as I'd accidentally locked her out.

I think I was also kept sensible by all the messages from my friends in Fareham. They were not being sensible at all by the looks.

We went to pump this morning, I can feel it doing me good. The rest of the day not done a lot, a walk, some ironing, made dinner. We're having arrabiata on a Sunday, crazy talk because I'll be missing Monday tea by going to London.

Not much else on Sunday, watching another Star Wars I think.
