Blog2023 ≫ Healthy London lunch

London today, but first an update from Clare:

we all got attacked by seagulls on the canal. One flew into my head and tried to steal my sandwich and then another came and nicked [T2]’s out of his hand

London was quiet, there were big problems with the trains going into Waterloo apparently. Busy day at work, I was in a training exercise all morning, . I went for a different lunch today from Ptooch. I ate a lot yesterday, and noticed I'd put on 2kg seemingly overnight. So I went for the salad box instead of bread and chips. Hadn't been to Ptooch before, you fill a box, like from a buffet. It's all halal, but is it all vegan? They're not clear, that's why I just went for the clearly salad items instead of the hot buffet. Still, a bargain, a big box of food for £4.50. I had couscous and stuffed vine leaves and olives and veges and salad and chillis and a few potatoes. Very nice, but a bit dry, I need to find something saucy there next time.

Leaving the building at the end of the day and I saw one of the big cheeses talking to security about a suspicious device he'd found unattended in the office! The suspicious device looked a bit like the mobile hotspot gizmo I'd been using because the office WiFi was so bad today. Er... Confessed it was mine. It's probably fine when the top brass know who you are isn't it? Isn't it?

I just made the early train home despite having to run back and pack away the suspicious device. I actually had to run. Loving it that train ticket is just on my phone these days. Only last year the most high tech option was to use "The Key", a plastic smart card, and I still need paper tickets if I'm traveling out of the Southeastern region with the family.

We watched Race Around The World again and we all still want to go to Canada. The "challenge" component of this show is so fake this time, but the scenery is amazing.

Come to a gig with me! Last Monday! Alwyn videoed some of the covers band in The Fountain1:
