Blog2023 ≫ Runuary day twenty-five

Twenty-five days done of running at least 5km each day. Today was freezing. Wasn't too bad when I got up (well 3℃), but I still figure mostly using the treadmill is cheating a bit. So I waited until lunch and went out then and it seemed to have cooled down a bit, possibly to freezing. And to make matters worse for myself I did a hill run, starting up Hospital Hill and round Sandgate that way. Only six more runs to do this month.

Work was good, all the better for not being in London, though I am going in tomorrow.

Just trying to work out what tax I might pay on these shares. Hopefully none, but anything up to 20%. I will keep 20% of it in a safe account until I know, then hopefully that is just extra money later. I told Clare about the money, I was going to try and keep quiet about it...

This dryanuary is still a breeze. I'm driving out to a pub on Friday, treat my friends to a few rural pints. Then come February 1st I will be starting Febrewery, to catch up. Still going to try and keep a lid on the drinking at home though.

Today I in 2002 I was at Jimmy Eat World, in 2001 it was Phoenix, in 2000 it was Beta Band, and today in 1996 it was Catatonia. I saw them a lot, often supporting other bands but this time was a headliner. I don't even like them much. Oh and today in 1998 it was an NME Brat Bus show, the one with Stereophonics and Sophie Ellis Bextor, what a lineup...

Was just talking about Camden Palace as a friend is going their for a work do, except it is some private members club inside it now, and it's called Koko anyway. I only have three gigs there in my database, there must have been more than that. Maybe it was all club nights though. I know I saw Carter USM there one night, on a night that I went to three gigs in the one night, right at the beginning of my London residency. Can't find it now though. Well, I tried to go to three gigs, the second gig was Orlando, I remember looking in the door but was it too busy? Was it sold out? I didn't go any further. And I can't remember where it was, somewhere Camden-ish. And I can't remember who the first band of the night was either. Good story.

5k: Five km, just over three miles to you.

dryanuary: Not drinking for the month of January.
