Blog2022 ≫ No rain today, but windy

Rained a lot yesterday, but I dragged myself out for a walk after work. In the dark and the rain. Today though, very windy, but the rain has gone. I made the boys come out with me at lunch (I'm working from home) AND I insisted no gaming until after lunch too. It went well, they didn't watch TV either, they mostly did lego. T1 tried his new chin-up bar again, we both managed three. We'll build on this.

Have packaged up his new phone for return, as there is an issue with charging it.

I have so far been offered EIGHT EUROS back by Thalys for the inconvenience. I'm still over £400 quid down, so I'm still on the case. I can't expect the £400 back from Thalys for the missed Eurostar, but I need whatever I can get really.

A friend sent me details of A new European sleeper train taking you from London to Berlin. You still have to change in Brussels, so it's not entirely new. Sounds good, except a) I've been to Berlin and b) we're still hurting from our last train experience.

No plans yet to go out on new years eve, and then af course a January of not drinking. Wonder if I'll keep in touch with my friends? That is always my worry. I already lost my semi-regular status at the Potting Shed, but I think I'm safe at the Inn Doors for now.

There's always the danger these places themselves won't survive dryanuary, we'll just have to see.

A quite night of more TV tonight. I finished Wednesday yesterday, which I fell asleep in front of on christmas day, and we started Ghosts US again. Clare and I had started before but we stopped watching, now we're watching it again with the boys.

dryanuary: Not drinking for the month of January.
