We're enjoying the new Cormoran Strike 3 on TV too, although it is too recently that we read the book so we know what happens. These TV adaptations are so faithful to the book that there are few surprises in it. Normally TV crime dramas vary quite a bit from the books. Usually this is because the books were written a while ago "in a different time" and you couldn't really show it all on TV.
Clare and the boys are watching Elf, but I just can't. I've been excitingly replacing batteries and bulbs to get our automated home back up to scratch.
