Blog2022 ≫ Missed eco hour in a big way yesterday

Octopus eco hour came up at short notice yesterday, and it was not convenient. I'd already got pies for tea that had to go in the oven, AND it was two hours from five to seven, and looking at my energy graph I used more energy than usual at that peak time, rather than less. £7.43 for the day is the highest for ages. Not sure why it was entirely so high. Clare was in the house all day, doing some washing, catching up on her weekend away-ness. Boys were at school and I was working from home.

Quieter at work today because we're into "hard freeze", so not changing anything customer facing, nothing that will go to our production boxes at this important time. So more meetings, more documenting, and hopefully some time to work on "developer experience", small improvements we've been thinking about all year. Do not have to commute in because of the risk of train strikes and things, so that's good. We'll be having some kind of online-only christmas social on Thursday afternoon. Then I am starting to get excited about the weekend. Well, nervous more than excited. Early start Saturday, day and night in London, back home for a few hours then back to London again to start our little holiday! And I'm hugely unprepared for it. Will be panic packing for me on the Sunday. Assuming I get home again and don't just sleep rough between Saturday's day out and Monday's epic train trip.

Ash twenty-one years ago today, and Suede nineteen years ago. Also I see KISS are doing their farewell tour again! Not sure I could or would drag anyone along. Would be fun if there was an overseas date I could tie in with a holiday though, I will take a look...
