Blog2022 ≫ Did not have to go back to London again

I had a vague plan to go back to London yesterday, but in the end did not have to.

The day started with exercise, I walked to parkrun, ran, and walked back. Not a fast parkrun, over twenty-five minutes but you have to be impressed I did at all after our big night out.

Folkestone parkrun results for event #358. Your time was 00:25:23.

Congratulations on completing your 102nd parkrun and your 91st at Folkestone parkrun today. You finished in 77th place and were the 63rd Male out of a field of 295 parkrunners and you came 11th in your age category VM50-54. Take a look at this week's full set of results on our website. Your PB at Folkestone parkrun remains 00:20:50. Your best time this year remains 00:21:36.

Next to try and get shoes for T1, so we drove into Folkestone. There is only one shoe shop there, so if there are none here that suit me and he are going into Stratford on the train. We got some, I don't suppose they're great quality, but they can't be worse than the last ones we got from Schuh that fell apart in two weeks. So we don't have to go to London! I would have enjoyed it, but it did save quite a lot of money and time. So we celebrated with treats in a new cafe called Fond Coffee that was really good. Good coffee, good cakes, but I must say my sausage sandwich was absolutely tiny. It looks like someone at the sandwich but cut off the crusts, and that's what I was given. Still a nice place, and they even have a secret door behind a bookcase, so I'm going back again if only to look at that.

Then home, but plans to come back into Folkestone later for dinner. I walked back in (super step count day) and stopped at the Inn Doors for a couple. Met someone who was telling me about an investment scheme he is in that is earning a great rate of interest for him but it sounded so dodgy. I hope I talked him into getting some of his money out of it right away just to prove that he actually could and that it wasn't a scam. I'm absolutely certain it was. Will find out more if I bump into this same guy again!

We went to Luben for tea and it was great. They have changed the menu a bit, portions are smaller. My "salad" that I like to get, that is mostly really roast potatoes has got smaller I think, but they've added walnuts to it. I had the vegan meatball skillet too and that used to come with garlic bread and now doesn't. Or this time didn't. Same with Clare's lasagne. Boys had pizza and we all enjoyed it.

T2 tells me it is christmas in six weeks...

Estimated 654 cups of coffee from my espresso machine1 probably comes to £1.72 per cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 but not the electricity).
