Blog2022 ≫ Still beating the heating

Was actually cold when we got up yesterday, weather is not so nice right now. Was not quite cold enough to make the heating kick in, Nest thermostat says it was over eighteen degrees. T1 particularly was complaining about the cold, but I think he was trying it on, trying to get out of school. He had an assignment that he had not prepared for, he had to do a reading in class. He was supposed to have chosen a song and read out the words, as if it was a poem. I think the teacher chose this thinking "they'll all have a favourite song" and the choosing won't be the hard part. The only songs he knew were inappropriate rap songs or he just didn't want to do them, so we struggled for a while. In the end we all settled on Pink Floyd and Wish You Were Here. He's memorised it and gone in, a little bit happier. I cranked the heating up by one degree anyway, but it still didn't kick in today.

We had the slow cooker on all night as I made a chilli very late, maybe that kept the house warm.

Clare on lates this week so I watched half of See How They Run. Been wanting to see this for ages, and actually we started watching it on Saturday, but I fell asleep and missed most of it. It's very good.

Work still crazy busy, still dealing with potential incidents. Everyone has an extra eye out for things that might go wrong as we come into our busiest time of the year.
