On the trains today, but not commuting! Got a day off. There are lots of train strikes at the moment, but no train strike today, but a train has struck a person at Ashford this morning. It would have affected my journey if I'd been going to work, it has made my friend late for work, he's the one who told me about it. It's really messed up the day of the person hit by the train of course, and anyone who witnessed it. It seems it will be all clear by the time we go, but we're pushing our start back by an hour just to make sure. We will still be at our destination about the estimated time. The boys are very much looking forward to this journey, and not just because they're going to have a pasty at the station.
Got up early this morning to take Clare into work so we could have the car, but only to get us to the station. We could have driven the whole way but none of us likes long car journeys, and we do like train journeys. We're all packed we think and heading of the door NOW!
No time yesterday to say it was nineteen years ago that day we saw Bruce Forsyth. And a lot of others actually in a charity cabaret thing. Also I have it that yesterday in 1995 I was at Kula Shaker and also Menswear, so I have the date of one of those wrong surely.
