Blog2022 ≫ Worst parkrun in a while

Was not nice this morning, a bit drizzly when I headed out to parkrun, and then it properly came down. The water was flowing down the roads like a river. So I was soaked by the time I got to Folkestone, no I didn't take a coat, just a hoodie. The sun came out for the run, but not enough to dry me out. Running with wet feet partly contributes to my worst time of the year, must be one of my slowest ever.

Folkestone parkrun results for event #354. Your time was 00:26:44.

Congratulations on completing your 98th parkrun and your 88th at Folkestone parkrun today. You finished in 60th place and were the 46th Male out of a field of 166 parkrunners and you came 6th in your age category VM50-54. Take a look at this week's full set of results on our website. Your PB at Folkestone parkrun remains 00:20:50. Your best time this year remains 00:21:36.

That looks like a hundred fewer people than the week before too, lightweights. Only two more to do until I get my name called out! Clare thinks I should join a running club too as her her friend at work is in a good one. Do a bit of training and maybe technique improvements. I do need the motivation to get out more.

I just realised I didn't write up all of our holiday yet, I found some draft content I'd saved in my email. I will not sit here and do that all day though, tempting though it is. Clare is at work and the boys are at Grandpa's for the day, so I am mostly at leisure. I do have some jobs to do. Another coffee first though, and another listen to Queen II on the gramaphone.

Estimated 594 cups of coffee from my espresso machine1 prob'ly comes to £1.83 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing1 so not the 'leccy).
